The Lord's Supper is, according to Jesus' testament, not bread and
wine only, but his very body and blood for Christians to eat and to drink
for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen the union Christ has with
His Church. Our Lord invites to commune with Him those who believe
His body and Blood are "given and shed for the remission of sins" and are
truly present. Such worthy communicants repent of all sin and set
aside any refusal to forgive and love others as He forgives and loves us,
that they may proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
Because those who eat and drink this Sacrament in an unworthy manner are
guilty of sinning against the body and blood of our Lord, all ought to
examine themselves before they receive the bread and the cup. Anyone
who has not been so instructed or does not believe Christ's own testament
is asked to first speak with the pastor.
