Ascension offers its members many opportunities for worship, service to our Lord in His Kingdom Work, community outreach, and for fellowship.  These provide everyone in the congregation the opportunity to participate if they choose to.  A short list of activities includes…

Obviously, the first activities are our regular Sunday worship services.  We offer two identical services on Sunday mornings, one at 8:00 AM, and the second or 'late' service at 10:45 AM.  Both services include a Children's Message as part of the service.

Sunday School classes are held between services for youth and adults.  Adult classes include coffee and a snack, and provide ample time for fellowship.

Not everyone is 'free' on Sunday mornings to worship. Sometimes job requirements or even weekend travel make an alternative worship time attractive.  Therefore, we hold Monday evening services at 6:00 PM every week.  These worship services are identical to our Sunday morning services.

A staffed nursery is offered on Sunday mornings for the convenience of families with children, ages 3 and younger.  The nursery is 'open' with a caregiver available from 7:45 AM through the end of the second service.

Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) meets monthly for women interested in missions here at home and around the world.

The Youth Group meets regularly for devotions, discussions, and fellowship.

'Life with God' classes are held periodically, led by Pastor Bernie.

Confirmation classes are held for 7th and 8th graders, in preparation for their renewing of their baptismal vows.

Church services are held on Wednesday evenings during Advent and Lent.  Usually, there is a congregational dinner held before each of these special worship services.

Women of the congregation hold weekly Bible studies, open to all.

The Easter Celebration/Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Easter Sunday morning breakfast, and more than a few pot luck dinners....these are held for the congregation and the community each year.

Our congregation participates every year in the 'Walk to Defeat ALS'.  Everyone wearing a green shirt is a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.   Other organizations also participate, but we usually supply more 'walkers' than any other organization.  We partner with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in this fund raising effort.  

Ascension members participate in local Habitat for Humanity functions, joining with other Lutheran churches under the guidance of Thrivent Financial...just one way our congregation can serve our neighborhood

As with all Lutheran Churches, we have the typical church leadership positions, including Congregational President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Elders.  In addition, we have various boards for specialized areas…Board of Education, Board of Evangelism, Board of Church Properties, and Board of Stewardship….these areas where people can help lead the Kingdom Work our Lord has given us.
